Sword Valley, named for its thinner and shorter fairy chimneys that resemble swords, offers a unique landscape to explore.
The Adventure:
The main attractions in Sword Valley are the numerous dwellings and churches carved into the cliffs. The cone-shaped rocks and scattered houses provide an interesting backdrop for a couple of hours of exploration, whether by foot or quad bike.
Activities:
This area is a popular starting or ending point for balloon flights and is also known for quad bike rentals. Numerous paths criss-cross throughout the valley, so it's easy to spend time wandering and discovering the area's hidden corners. Be mindful, as it's also easy to end up at a dead end.
Best Time to Visit:
- Anytime: The valley offers different experiences throughout the day.
- Sunrise: Hot air balloons fly overhead, providing spectacular views. Even if you don't plan on taking a balloon flight (though highly recommended), visiting at sunrise offers incredible scenery.
